History of HotShots Sports Bar & Grill

Dan and Julie Volmert recognized the need for a true sports bar & grill in the St. Louis market more than 20 years ago.  They created Hotshots Sports Bar and Grill in 1990 to meet that need with a unique combination of “All The Games All The Time,” pool, darts, video games, and food.   Since 1990, Dan and Julie have been continuously involved with improving the Hotshots system and growing the brand.  We have become a leader in the marketing of products and a dynamic trend setter whose concept is continually mimicked but never successfully copied.

In addition to the activities, Hotshots Sports Bar and Grill provides a diverse menu with appetizers, soup, salads, sandwiches, pizza, burgers and entrees as well as lunch specials everyday.  We have become famous for our “Hotshots Hot Wings” and “St. Louis Style Pizza.”

As part of our community stewardship, Hotshots Sports Bar and Grill has chosen Wonderland Camp as the focus of our charitable endeavors.  Wonderland Camp is a respite camp located in the heart of Lake Ozark, Missouri.  Wonderland Camp provides a camping experience for those individuals, primarily children and teens, who live with a disability. The camp is staffed with counselors who work closely with the campers, in some cases, one on one, to introduce them to outdoor activities that they would otherwise be unable to enjoy. Hotshots has also sponsored events to raise money for the families of fallen police officers, MacAntee, Ballman and Biggs, all of the Kirkwood, Missouri Police Department.

Hotshots has been a hands-on family owned business for over 20 years.  The Volmerts have extended their family beliefs and practices to the store managers and upper management many of whom have been with the company for several years.  Now they hope to share these beliefs and practices with their franchisees.
